Rebecca Akindunjoye
As a female artist, Akindunjoye’s work is a celebration of mankind in all its beautiful variations. She finds inspiration in the kaleidoscope of human experiences capturing the essence of diverse cultures, genders and identities.
Through her art she aims to reflect the unity that binds us all while honoring the individuality that makes each person unique. This is greatly reflected in the movements of her embroidery works. In each strand of wool, she seeks to convey the power of diversity and the strength of our shared humanity transcending boundaries and fostering a more inclusive world. She creates art with decorative stitches, traditional embroidery and needlepoint using yarn and needle as a preferred tool on fabric.
Akindunjoye has participated in the Inside Out (Art of my Heart) exhibition in 2019, 3rd Ibadan Art Fair by Affordable Art Online and “invigoration” as Fobally Art Gallery where she displayed her embroidery works with other creative artists.
Her artistic goal is to embark on a journey of exploration and creativity by experimenting with new mediums visiting diverse and inspiring places and embracing her rich global cultures. She aims to push the boundaries of her art, drawing inspiration from the world’s beauty diversity and stories resulting in a body of work that reflects the evolution of her creative process.
