Ogochukwu Ejiofor

Ogochukwu Ejiofor is a Nigerian artist, painter and poet, wrapped in one. Her paintings and installations make attempts at “writing her biography” rather metaphorically, using colour and canvas. Her works primarily explore the three stages of life: childhood, adolescence and adulthood as catalysts for paintings which border on her personal experiences as a girl-child who grew up in rural and urban Africa, specifically, the Eastern part of Nigeria. These experiences which she has gained over time, greatly influence her creative outlook on life.

Her works are her ideal mode of sharing her hitherto, private experiences with the general public. Armed with the knowledge and principles of positive and negative forces at play, she uses mostly the positive experiences and only in very rare cases does she document the negative events.

She holds an BA and MFA degrees from University of Nigeria, Nsukka and University of Benin, Benin city respectively. .She is a member of the Association of Female Artist Nigeria, a member of SisterArt Visual Global Community, a member of Society of Nigerian Artists. She runs a studio space Art Bullet.ng which holds art workshops for secondary school children and art teachers. She is also an art ambassador for Goge Africa.
