Idowu Emmanel

“I love to make art because of the aesthetic value placed on my product”ions and the enthusiasm shown by the audience in appreciation for the art.”

Idowu’s preferred subject and themes are illustrations that capture the African ancient synergy, exploiting and bringing to new life the rural and urban settlement occurrence of the African race both historically and in present day context. His compositions are of the African cultural settings such as ancient market scenes. At other times he attempts to reimagine these environments by juxtaposing images to form a whole scene or setting. He also makes illustrations on Yoruba folklore and folktales.

Using impressionism, pointillism and colour separation, with the skillful use of dark run on lines, which he calls ‘dream lines’, he harmonises the colours in his works. Idowu wishes to impact as many lives as possible beyond the art industry. With many works collected globally, he looks forward to getting globally acclaimed someday. galleries.

Although poised to tell the African story, he also draws inspiration for his techniques from some Western artists such as Rembrandt and Jules Scalbert. Nearer home, he is inspired by. Akinola Lasekan, Lamidi Olonade Fakeye, Mufu Onifade, Jonathan Imafidor Ayodeji, Dotun Popoola and John Lopez.
